Wordsearch — word search puzzles for adults
Last updated 16 September 2026
The short version. Wordsearch has no accounts and no server of its own. Everything you do in the game — your puzzles, your streak, your hint credits, your settings — stays on your device and is never sent to us. We never see it.
The one exception is advertising: the game is free because Google shows ads in it, and Google may use your device's advertising identifier to choose those ads. You control that, and the game plays exactly the same either way.
Who is responsible
Wordsearch is published by RASTA MTÜ, a non-profit association registered in Estonia, at Toominga 2, Kiisa alevik, 75503, Estonia. RASTA MTÜ is the data controller for this app under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What stays on your device
The app stores the following locally, using your device's own storage. None of it leaves your device, and there is no account to attach it to:
- Which puzzles you have completed, and the words you found
- Your daily streak and any streak protection
- Your hint credits and how many you have used today
- Your settings, such as tap-to-select mode
- Reminder times, if you enable notifications
Deleting the app deletes all of it. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
What the app does not do
- No account, no sign-in, no email address required
- No analytics or crash-reporting service of any kind
- No location collection by the app
- No contacts, photos, microphone or camera access
- No servers operated by RASTA MTÜ — the app makes no network requests of its own
Advertising
The app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. This is the only part of the app that sends anything off your device, and it is Google, not RASTA MTÜ, that receives it.
For advertising, Google may process your device's advertising identifier together with information about your device and your interaction with ads, in order to select ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure ad performance. Google acts as an independent controller for this processing.
| Recipient | Google Ireland Limited and the Google entities and advertising partners it engages |
|---|---|
| Data | Advertising identifier, device and network information, ad interaction data |
| Purpose | Showing and measuring ads that fund the app |
| Legal basis | Your consent, where consent is required. Otherwise the legitimate interest in funding a free app with advertising |
Google explains its own handling here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised advertising, using Google's consent form. You can change that answer at any time: open Settings in the app and choose Ad privacy choices. That entry appears wherever the consent requirement applies.
On iOS, the system additionally asks whether the app may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. You can change that answer in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On any device, you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings. Declining any of the above does not change the game: every puzzle, every hint tier and every feature works exactly the same.
Sharing your result
If you choose to share a completed puzzle, the app hands your device's own share sheet a short text with your time, your streak and a grid of coloured squares showing where words sat. It contains no letters, no words and no solution, and it contains nothing about you. Nothing is shared unless you tap share.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled and delivered by your device. No reminder passes through any server, and we are not told whether you opened one.
How long data is kept
Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. RASTA MTÜ stores no personal data about you at all, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Data processed by Google for advertising is retained according to Google's own policies, linked above.
Children
Wordsearch is a general-audience game intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because RASTA MTÜ holds no personal data about you, the practical routes are:
- For data on your device: delete the app, or clear its data in your device settings
- For advertising data: withdraw consent as described above, reset your advertising identifier, and use the controls in the Google links above
- For anything else: write to us at the address above
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Estonia this is the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), aki.ee.
International transfers
RASTA MTÜ transfers nothing. Google may process advertising data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in its own privacy policy.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be reflected in the app before they take effect.
